How do I make a slanted roof with this? I have agonized over this for about a year and just need to get it done. Suggestions? I’d like a shingle or tin roof. Also, do the roosts look too high? Another thing, suggestions as to how to make it taller? I don’t like the height the legs are

Hmm, roof isn't super clear in any of my pics and its raining now but essentially you just build the front side taller than the back.

As for raising it you could put it on cement raisers or throw together a plywood platform.

This is our first homemade coop so I'm learning as we go, and as we screw up, as well :gig

I hadn’t even thought of cement raisers, that’s perfect!

With making the front taller should I just add more 2x4s or something else? What about the sides? I’m really aiming to make something with soffits so I can have more ventilation if I close them up with hw cloth

Yes, this is what I want to make. How can I do that with the frame that I currently have?

What are you planning on using for the walls?

I’ve got one wall cut out. The others will have metal ventilation covers. I can’t think of the real name right now

Do you have the materials to cut a new front facing wall? If so, it should be a few inches higher than the back but as for changing the existing fit, that I'm not sure of. You could add raisers to the front and cover the the gap it would create using a cut to fit mesh screen then board it up come winter but that isn't ideal.

I'll ask DH when he gets home. He's pretty crafty with design flaws :gig
