If you go with a metal roof, depending on where you live (update your location in your profile please!) put plywood and underlayment underneath so you don't have to deal with condensation on the steel roofing at certain times of the year.

Plain corrugated steel will greatly increase the temperature
under the covering, if there is not enough ample shade to counteract it.
That's why I purposely had mine painted white. My covered run is a
good 20 degrees cooler than the outside temps.
