I thought I'd formerly introduce myself as my SECOND post here on BYC.
My name is Matt. My wife Faith and I just purchased waaaaay too many chickens from the local feed store after Easter for $1 each. We've been talking about this for some time. I'd planned to buy about 8 chicks, then last week we arrived home with 17 little fuzzy things in a box. I'm still not sure how that happened or where the extra ones come from.
I'm reading quite a bit here on BYC. I've started building the coop although I won't need it for a couple months (I think).
As far as I know, we have eight RIR, six Sex LInks, and three Bantys.... I have no idea how many are roosters and hens.
The peeps are doing very well, eating much more than I thought they could. They seem quite happy and love the 2hrs outside in the yard every evening after work. They are HILARIOUS! The one little Banty is so small
