Hi
I just fired up my incubator for my first hatch. Does the room temp. matter too much or is 50 degrees OK as long as it is steady? I have a spare bathroom that I can keep the incubator in with a steady temp. Otherwises the temp. in the house flucuates at least 20 degrees from day to night.

Thanks, Karen

As long as you can keep the inside temp where you want it the outside one doesn't matter

Agreed. All depends on the incubator's ability to maintain its own temperature.

Although, if the room temps swing greatly... that makes it harder for incubator to hold steady temps.

I have mine in my basement... which is a pretty steady 55-57 degrees. Works great.

Best of luck!

You need a steady temp for a still air incubator, not so much for ones with a fan.... Also the colder a room is the less moisture the air hold. So when the air heats up in the incubator it sucks out more moisture out of the eggs.
