Hi :) I attempted to take pics of my chicks they're approx a month old give or take a week, 5 are australorps and 4 are an orpington cross (not sure what with). These are our first chicks and was hoping someone could help me figure out what we've got 'cause I don't know how :/ Thanks!! :) :)

(There's a pic per bird)

Too early to tell. You might have better luck with side pictures that include comb. Also, only 3 of these birds are black so some you thought were Austrolorps must be mixes. Some of the chicks in the first few pictures look like barred rock crosses.

Too young, but nothing super glaringly obvious yet from what I can tell in the limited range of these pictures. And I agree with there only being 3 australorps, and the 2 that look like possible barred rocks. As for the others... might be lavender Orpingtons of unknown crossing. All cute as buttons though. :)

Also, that plus or minus a week does make a difference. They change immensely from week to week.

I also only see 3 Australorp and 3rd pic is definitely barred rock. I'm not great at early sexing so I won't even take a guess this young. But side pics and close up of Combs may let @drumstick diva or @junebuggena determine that for ya. They both are very good at sexing younger chicks.

There's 3 black astrolorp, 2 blue astrolorp than I just got 4 orphignton crosses from another lady; she didn't know what they were crossed with as the hen had seen a few fellas ;) I don't really know how reproduction works with chickens..would all the chicks have the same dad or might they be different? They were all hatched out together from the same hen. I'll wait a couple weeks and try to tell by their combs as suggested I heard you could tell by their feathers, feet/legs but like I say they're my first chicks so I'm learning from others as I go. :) Thanks guys :)
