Roos Sleeping with the Hens

Hi all, we've had roos in the past and they've always slept in the coop with the girls. However, I ran across an article that talked about separating them at night. I had never heard about doing that and have never had an issue with the roo getting rough with the hens at night. Does anyone have advice or experience? I'm asking because we are just starting to get into keeping roos for good (we used to sell the roos) so we can breed our own chicks.

My roosters always have slept in the coop with the girls at night. We've had chickens for 8 years now and haven't had a problem with that yet.
