just noticed today that my roo's spur on 1 leg is growing upwards toward his belly. is that normal? his spurs are about 1/2 in long is that time to get them trimmed and if so how do we do it? it looks normal no bleeding just growing up. any help would be great, thanks jim

Well, both the spurs on one of my roos grow very curved in a moon shape towards his underside, while a few of the others just have ones pointing inwards. You can take a dremel and cut off the tip and so any bleeding would be instantly cauterized.

I personally don't trim rooster spurs but you can when you think they are too long. My roo actually just broke the tip off of one of his so he's lopsided now. LOL
