Roost height for youngsters

I am wanting to do their roost at a height so I won't have to move it at adult age. so, is 4'6" too high for 2 month olds to get up? They have their primary feathers, but have never had a roost before. Cinnamon queens and Barred Rocks.
 
It would probably be too high now...can you make a permanent or even temporary ramp for them? Or maybe a lower roost that they can use to jump up to the higher roost. Depending on your breeds, it is also hard on the heavier breeds to land from such a height.
