Roost question

Has anyone ever used pallets for roosting? I have access to some pallets and was going to take them a part to make a roost. It is going to be 2 ft, wide. Today I had the bright idea of cutting the pallets in half and using them as is. Any thoughts?

As long as they're wood, they should work fine.
