Roost

Hi good morning, it's time I get my chicks (are they still considered chicks at 5 weeks?) out to there new coop. Except for a few security issues at the bottom of the fence I believe the coop is ready . All I need is to build a roost for 7 egg laying hens. Any help on hieght and with would be appreciated . My coop deminsions are 4' wide 8' long 4' high with A frame like trusses. Any help would be great. Meantime I'll see if I can find some pics, thanks Al

with the coop being 4 feet high I would make the roosts 2 feet off the floor. They need head room.

After looking at numerous pics there really doesn't seem to be a right or wrong way of building a roost.
