There is also blood on the feeder and both hens. Is this from frostbite or a fight do you think? High temp was 25 yesterday, low of 15F. Rooster is a Phoenix. Thanks in advance.

Roosters fight, I'm writing fast, hoping you get this. Skeptic stick like for shavibg cuts, or corn startch.
I'm sorry, had to create a new acct, but been on here a while. Steptic stick is a great thing to have around roos, as they fight at times. The blood , especially across a white feeder, can look gruesome. Combs get engorged with blood, and are easily cut by beak or feet.
Keep skeptic sticks and vertical spray on hand at all times.
Frostbite would look dark, possibly gray or black, a lack of blood circulation, not like this, hence my opinion it was a scuffle.
Best to you and your boy ♡♡

Sugar will stop profuse bleeding in a hard spot . Because the days are getting longer now it triggers the release of hormones in roosters. This makes them more aggressive (testosterone) and more likely to fight .When contained they can't avoid each other and can seriously injure one another. Just because roosters can get along never let your guard down. They can wake up any day and pick a fight
