Rooster and his ladies

I noticed an interesting behavior with my young OEGB gentleman and his newly laying pullet today. He was " guarding" outside of her nest box for a long time and then went into the box and lay down with her until she finished laying her egg.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior in their roosters?

Haven't seen it with mine but I've heard/read of such behavior.

I felt so privileged to see this behavior. I hope he keeps doing this. I'd love to know if others have seen it as well. I'm beginning to think I have a very special little guy.
