My Rooster Stan is about 12 weeks old. I have him and four girls in a large run with some supervised free range everyday. All of my girls are great at getting in the coop at bedtime and Stan does a great job getting them in there. Once all of them are in he paces and gets very anxious until we go in and put him in. We’ve tried rewarding him with treats for going in and he does but will not do it on his own. I don’t want to leave him out all night. That’s not an option as we have way too many predators. I’d love to transition to an automatic coop door eventually but I’m worried he would never go in on his own. Any suggestions or people who have had this problem I’d love any advice. I will not keep him out all night and I hate how nervous he gets when we do t put him in. He paces at the coop door looming for us. We’ve tried to wait him out but always give in when it gets dark and just put him in.
