Rooster behaviour

I have a rooster for the first time. He is a bantam, while my 8 girls are not. 4 leghorns & 4 golden comets. He has been madly courting the girls & has attempted the mounting, but he is only on 2-3 sec. & gets down. How long does it take for a successful breeding? I'm familiar with dog breeding etc, but not roosters.

That's how long my rooster does his business and I've had fertile eggs.
