Can a two-year old Old English Game Bantam rooster cover as many as 8 hens?

Usually 8 is the minimum amount of hens you want to ensure fertility and keep the hens from getting over mated. It boils down to how active the rooster is, though.

These are bantams and the Old English Game Bantams are very active. I’m just trying to get an idea of how I will match up breeders this Spring.

I would truly expect him to easily cover 8, and often times have had up to 15 with a good active rooster, and all the eggs were good.

As you cook, keep track of your fertile eggs if you are running 95% fertile - you can set with confidence. If you are not, well, then lower the number of hens per rooster. But I never have, it was all or nothing.
