OK so I have a Buff orp and RIR rooster that just turned 1 year old 3 days ago. They have had their squabbles and such, but nothing serious. Actually a month ago The Buff Roo (Summer) sprained his leg pretty badly and I kept him inside for 3 weeks. When he healed up and I tried to put him with the flock the RIR roo (Thorin) wouldnt have it. They fought and I thought because they where older and I separated them that they would never be ok with each other again.I tried a different tactic I introduced them slowly keeping Summer in at night and tended both their wounded, then let him free range with them in the afternoon. Amazingly after a week or two of this they were fine with each other. I was really shocked!! SOOOO this morning I saw the two squabbling and thought nothing of it. I went to let them free range and Summer and Thorin were fighting and blood was flowing. The wounds didn't look too bad and I let them out to get a closer look. They continued to fight the WHOLE time they were outside!! I had to stop them and eventually take Thorin away. I tended his wounds and realized it was getting dark so put him in with the others. Why are they fighting like this?? So they turn one and decide they hate each other?? They also both favor one of the hens and fight over her constantly, could this be a problem also?Is there any thing I can do?? Helpppp. I plan on selling Summer any ways but untill that happens is there anything I can do??
