Okay so these are my first chickens and guineas. I raised them together from when the guineas were 2 weeks and the chicks were 2 days old. The chickens are now about 14-15 weeks old and the guineas are 16-17 weeks old. The rooster is very protective of the guineas. the snuggle under him and floow him around everywhere. He calls for them if they stray and everything. It's nice because now that he is getting big he is a good protector for them.
The problem is that i also have a pullet that he doesn't seem to like. They were raised together in the same brooder with the guineas. It was only them in there. He chases her away from the food and sometimes away from the guineas. The all roost up in the same tree at night.
I just worry about her not having the protection of the rooster. They free range and she stays with them but he chases her all the time. He pecks at her too.
Also i have some 5 week old guineas (2) and a chick (99% sure she's female) that I will be moving out soon and I don't want him to hurt the little chicken.
Do you think this will work itself out? Will he fertilize the eggs of the chickens? Can he mate with the guineas?
Sorry for all the questions, I am just frustrated with him.
