I have a Silkie rooster, he’s about 2 years old, and I just noticed today that his comb has changed color. It’s always been a dark blue/purple color and today I noticed it’s almost a light grey color. I think I remember reading that combs are related to fertility so does that mean his fertility is going down? He’s the best rooster, he may not be the prettiest :gigor highest quality Silkie but he takes great care of his hens and has never shown even the slightest bit of aggression toward people

I think the fertility only applies to hens, but I couldn't say for sure. color can be affected by quite a few things, like feed, season, mood and illness.
If he doesn't have other roosters to compete against, he might just be calmer.

Thank you, that’s good to know! I knew I read that about the comb and fertility somewhere but I’m sure it was about hens and I just assumed that applied to both!
