Hi,
I want to make several bachelor quarters for my males. How much room does each male need to be comfortable? I allow 4 q, ft. per bird in my coop. is that enough for a bachelor quarters? Or do I need more? I figure a 1o sq. ft. run will be enough. The males will be inside 24/7 for as much as a month during the deepest part of cold winter. They will have a light on 24/7 to keep temp just warm enough the combs don't freeze.
Thanks,
Karen

Why do the roos need to be in the coop 24/7 for a month!! Sounds crazy.... I would make the run predator proof and leave the pop door open 24/7. The coop will need ventilation even on the coldest of days. A light is OK for heat as long as the coop is large and well ventilated. Coop and run space sounds fine.
