Rooster courting another rooster

I have a new rooster thats about 11 months old now. I already have an older well established rooster (the father) but I have not seen them fight yet. Instead I've seen the older rooster perform courtship dances for and even 'mount' my younger rooster. Make love and not war 🤣? How common is this?

My roosters/cockerels do that to other roosters/cockerels in the same rooster flock frequently. For my birds, it is more like playing and not a real show of dominance. It has hardly ever resulted in physical fighting. Cockerels lower on the hierarchy sometimes do the wing dance to the top rooster, and my top rooster will just walk away.
With that said, I have a very good, tolerant top rooster.

It's a low-stakes dominance game. They'll do things like that or just chase the other rooster to establish or maintain dominance over the lesser roos. High-stakes is a direct challenge: hackles raised and staring the rival in the eye, which can result in a fight.
