We have 8 hens and 1 rooster, they have been raised all together since they were little, which we have had them now a little over a year. The hens backs and wings have been stripped of their feathers. We want to keep our rooster but how do we help the hens to get their feathers back. I have heard of tree trimming spray for wound care, but is this something to use this for. Does the rooster just need to be completely separated from the girls. He is a good rooster otherwise, which is why we want to keep him. Any help is appreciated.

You can put hen saddles on your birds or you can remove the rooster and allow 'conjugal' visits if you want fertile eggs. Some roosters become less active as they mature.
