Rooster crowing and gettin' it on

So we have a 4.5mo rooster who hasn't started crowing but for sure is doing the deed. I haven't actually seen it but the eggs we get from our laying hens are fertilized. I guess I just thought he would be crowing if he's able to fertilize the eggs.

First time with a rooster. Also a city dweller so they aren't allowed. But he is cool and I'm hoping he's going to be a quiet boy

It's good that he has no fertility issues! You should buy a small incubator. Hatching eggs is a wonderful experience!
Unfortunately he will start crowing but I've had some that are quieter than others (but they still crow). If he is noisy, hopefully your neighbors are relaxed! Good luck!

Consider yourself lucky. I've got 5 month old cockerels that have decided that 1 am is the best time to start a crowing contest.

I have a trio that does that as well... they are 4 months old

Don't hatch unless you have an exit plan for all the cockerels! The only thing worse than a single roo crowing is a rooster seranade.
