ROOSTER died from weasel attack

24 Hours ago a weasel killed my rooster and one of our chicks, leaving behind feathers all over and a blood bath, now our hens are traumatized. we would like to know, should we wait to get another rooster? Not that our Elvis is replaceable bcause his not, he was a real gentlemen, when we called his name he would respond with a loud cocorico, we miss him dearly but he died to protect his hens making him even a better mate VS some human versions.

It's up to you but that would stress your girls to add a new bird too soon.
I'd secure my coop before I'd add a new bird, first of all. Rat traps with sardines or chicken might get the bugger.
Remember to quarantine new birds for at least a month. ;]

I agree, we will wait for them to get back to some normal
