Do some roosters just not crow? I have one that I have not heard make a sound at all? Anyone have any answers?

Well, our rooster didn't crow for about 7 months... I think I have some weird chickens anyway, but it was so funny when he started trying. One day, we went outside because we kept hearing something... it was him and he sounded like he had a smoker's cough mixed with someone poking him in the rump with a hot pitch fork... imagine that for a second...

Anyway, it took him about 2 weeks and he got the hang of it... now he sounds like a pro. I guess some take time.

Is he your only roo? Alot of times if you have more than one roo the alpha roo can keep the others so intimidated they won't crow if he's around.
But yeah, all roosters crow; some just take longer than others to find their voice.
