Had a whole bunch of eggs that we weren’t going to be able to use in time, so I shared with the chickens today! This time I decided to crack an egg and see what my blind boy Joe thought

Yes, we are aware of this! We avoided feeding uncooked eggs for awhile, but then at some point, probably when we accidentally dropped the eggs and they cracked, they ate them anyway. After this happening multiple times (I guess we are clumsy) and never having any problems with them cracking their own eggs or showing any interest in trying to afterwards, now we just give them raw eggs every so often. It doesn’t seem to create a problem for our flock, they always just lay the eggs in their boxes and leave without a second thought! For some reason they only see the eggs as food when we’re holding themFor Joe this might be okay, but feeding uncooked eggs to your flock is a great way to create egg eaters.![]()
