Just wondering what feed those with Roosters give them? Jeff, my big lad eats the same as the hens, layer mash

Hi Jeff.

I have a cockerel and 10 pullets. I feed an All Flock type of feed with 18% protein. I offer oyster shell in a separate container on the side for the pullets. This way the cockerel does not get all the extra calcium he does not need that is included in the layer mash.

How old is Nasty Jeff now? Some say do not feed roosters with layer feed, but I don't see a problem with it.

I feed gamebird grower mixed with crimped corn.

I feed Grower/ Finisher with oyster shell in a separate dish.

Nutrena All Flock Pellet with oyster shell on the side. I hate the crumbles which is often associated with the grower/finisher products.
