My rooster was on the coop floor with his chest out and comb purply-red. I brought him inside. His chest was puffed up a lot and his head was way back - it looked like a dislocated breastbone. I gently started pushing on it and it kind of went back in - he looked better (more normal position) but still had a purply comb and wouldn't focus on me. His pupils were larger than normal. Slowly, he stood up and I set him in a quiet spot w/ water but no food. He stood frozen for 15 mins and then slowly sank down. His chest came out again and his head would fall to the side, jerk back normal, and fall again. We will take him to the vet to see what's wrong...

Sounds like trauma, shock and not enough oxygen intake. Anything happen recently? Is his mouth clear?

he passed:( It seemed like something cardiac or neurological,we will get a necropsy done to learn more. He is happy in chicken heaven now:)

We previously had a pullet die from Marek's but he was 6 mo (light buff brahma) and vaccinated so i don't think that's it
