Rooster has rose comb, & only 2 outta 12 have the same...

Interesting to see the beginings of a rose comb on two of my 12 chicks, & the rest all have striaght combs. All three of the hens are straight combed. Read somewhere that a rose comb was a dominant trait & if that's the case, then my Dom X, probably has straight comb recessive gene in his bloodline...

Your American Dominique has Single Comb in the background somewhere.
If it is from a hatchery the I would say most likely it has some Barred Rock in it.
