Rooster Help and Advice

I have never owned a rooster and need some advice please! We had a hen killed by a hawk recently so we have decided to get a rooster. He is almost 2 years old, handled by children (for 4H) and , from what she tells me, has a nice disposition.

My questions are, is 2 years old a good age to determine his personality? Also, how do I introduce him to my girls? I've introduced new girls to my flock in the past but never a roo! Help! And thanks.

After a quarantine period, I'd just put him on the roost after dark. A mature rooster should fit in quite quickly with a hen flock.
