Rooster Hen

After loosing my Rooster Big Red to a fox my one hen now is acting like a rooster she gets up every morning like Big Red did and sits up on the purch flaps her wings and gives a sad sad sad imitation of the way he use to call out in the morning then struts around like he did.I have Herd of hens doing this when the rooster was lost.She also finds bugs and lets the other hen know where there at like Red did.

I have an old hen that had lived a long time without a rooster. She has crowed on occasion and is the alpha bird, even with the 5 roosters currently in her flock. She lays for short periods of time. She is an easter egger.
