Rooster is loosing feather around neck

My rooster is loosing feathers around his neck and the hens are fine. He is about a full year older then hens,eats an feels fine but is pitful. Could be moulting? Very wet here this fall in east tex and coop small because they get out in afternoon in LARGE bkyard an only stay in coop for the night?

This is a time of year for molting, and hens often like to groom their husband.

Is he the only rooster you have that run with your hens??. Sometimes arguing roo's will pluck each others neck feathers.

My roo lost his butt feathers and is now growing them back.

He is now losing his neck feathers and has LOTS of pin feathers.

I am guessing the next to go will be his saddle feathers.

Yep, he is a molting, ugly sight right now. He is a very pretty roo otherwise.
