Rooster is such a gentleman

My blue splash marans rooster, Big Blue is going on two years old and has never been anything but the a gentleman and dignified rooster. He purrs and clucks and woos his girls, and today I saw him scratching and making a nest for one of his hens who couldn't figure out where to lay with the new nest boxes and new bedding everywhere when we thoroughly cleaned the hen house. He scratched up an indention and even sat in it for awhile and was encouraging the hen to lay there. It was very sweet to see.
I wish I could find him a new home. I am downsizing my flock this fall and need to rehome him and don't want to see him in a stew pot. I am going to post it locally and see if I can find him some new digs.
He also has been fostering 25 new chicks from the end of april. He carries on like he is a hen at times.

I am in WA... a bit too far, plus, I don't have the space for 2 roosters, and this guy was a gift from a friend, so I would feel bad getting rid of him..

If only we could have roosters in the city... I'd love to have a gentle Roo to keep my girls company.
