I have a 3 year old cookoo marran rooster and about 5 days ago he started limping. I put it down to scaly leg as the stuff id bought wasnt working and his anckel was quite bad. I spoke to the breeder an he sujested brushing his legs with a bit of desiel as this kills the scaly mites. His scabs are falling off so i think this must be sorting that out be he is limping worse and wont perch. I confined him for 3 days to get him to rest his leg but now he carnt even limp he hopping on 1 leg, so this mornjng iv put him back with the rest as excercice might help. Iv had a realy good look at his leg i carnt see any thorn or infection, but his feather foliquiles ( bit where feathers come out of skin) seem red on his bad leg and he dosnt like me prodding his hip. Iv checked him for mites an carnt see anything. His hip is slightly warmer than the good leg. Any ideas as to what i can do to help him please?
