Hello everyone! Sorry if this is a dumb question. We are first timers with raising chickens and hatched out bundle of 12. I have heard Hens can crow just as Roosters do, my question is how do you know if you have a Hen or a Rooster aside from them laying eggs? Mine are 11 weeks and one is an obvious Roo but we really thought the other was a Hen and this morning I walked out to her singing with the others
. We love them all and are already heartbroken that we will have to rehome some Roosters because of the amount of them and due to possibly noise complaints in the future or them hurting each other. Trust me we want to keep them all. My daughter is sick at the thought of rehoming and someone eating one of her "children." Yes we understand and have always discussed the possibility of what might happen if and when we have a rooster. We do plan to keep one andhave already been looking into other options for the remaining Roosters. We just want to be VERY sure before we do this. I will get pics and upload.
