Welcome to BYC. I'm glad you decided to join our flock. My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas not too awful far from Crowley (Blue Ridge for her, Greenville for me), and I have a number of relatives in Weatherford. You only have one chick in your picture, and it is pretty young to try and sex accurately. I would suggest posting pics of both of them in about a month on our What Breed or Gender is This? section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this, and let our experts there take a look at them. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. I hope both your chicks turn out to be pullets.

I see there is a second chick in the pic. Somehow I missed it with my first post. Just guessing, I'd say the top one is a pullet and the bottom one is a cockerel, but again they are very young and I'd post in about a month.

I agree with Michael here, the top one looks like a pullet and the lower one looks like a cockerel. But you still might post these pics in our What Breed and Gender section to be sure. Michael has left you with the link to that section.
