I always hear alot of post on here about bad roosters. But I say to all of you- it is possible to have a nice rooster as long as your willing to put effort into the relationship.

This is Gilda. He is a RIR rooster...everyone says that the RIR breed is prone to aggression (laughs to self). I raised him from a day old chick, made effort to hold him everyday (despite what people say). One year later, he has been a great rooster- Has only tryed the wing dance once, comes when i call him by name and lets me hold him (as long as the girls dont see it bc he enjoys being pet. sshhh, its his secret). This is not a freak event because i raised 3 other RIR roosters that turned out very mellow as well.

Now, yes, i'm partly bragging but i'm also desputing the advice that i was given to push them away, not hold them when they are young.
have you ever found that to be false info as well?

I also have a good RIR Cockerel. I haven't had him since day one but me & Freddy get along good. I don't pet h
