Rooster problem... he won't let hens sleep in coop at night?

What we did was put all the hens in the coop and then we left the rooster out with a high place to roost on.
It worked for us

55 gal poly drum, upside down.
Three to Four stakes around the drum to keep it in place.
Hole cut out of drum for door.
Teather leg to stake.
Like a game cock.

Make sure he is near the door of the coop, water, and food, but not so close that he can prevent the hens from entering, drinking or eating.
Leave him on that for a few weeks.
He may become accustom to "sharing" the coop domain as he sees the hens enter and leave.

otherwise... freezer camp.
