I have 2 roosters that were hatchmates. They joined my ladies when they were about 6 months old. Albert is a big boy, Leghorn x Red Sexlink. Henry is a Bantam, White Frizzle Cochin Bantam x Buff Brahma Bantam. Always perfect gentlemen with the ladies because the ladies taught them manners! Always gentlemen with humans, not a mean bone in their bodies. Henry keeps his proper and appropriate distance knowing Albert is the alpha (although he is sneaky and loves the big ladies). Occasionally Albert will remind Henry that the ladies are off limits. (Henry never learns).
I’m explaining all of this because I love that I can have them all together in one coop and run. But I’m considering attempting to give Henry a bit of a honeymoon with 1 or 2 particular ladies in hopes of producing some offspring from him. I have a coop and run inside the main run that I use for introducing new birds or for giving a broody some privacy while setting. I’m wondering, if I used this introduction coop/run as the honeymoon suite for a few weeks would this cause Albert to not accept his little brother back into the fold? Or would the fact that they are only separated by wire fence keep it peaceful like a normal introduction procedure? I never want to cause these two to become enemies. They are both about 1 year and 8 months old now.

I have done this here many times, and it's been fine. It takes three weeks for sperm from a rooster to be gone in hens he's bred, so that's when you can start saving eggs from your 'honeymooners'!
There's never a guarantee that two formerly 'good with each other' roosters will continue to be polite!

Thank you. My main concern is the roosters getting along. I guess I won’t be lighting candles for the honeymoon suite. 🤷🏻‍♀️
