Hello Guys,
I have to say love BYC. I feel so connected. My family need some rooster advice. We have two in our flock in Brisbane Area, (the chicks were from a program) so we're going to keep both but our flock is too small and one of our roosters crows even with his collar which can cause issues in our area. We'd like to rehome him however, we asked friends and family, we posted online but people dont seem to pass our screening process. We want to drop the rooster off due to worry over cock fighting or being mistreated.
We starting to think we may have to put him down. A friend had to take their rooster to the vet and have it put down. My partner thinks that as much as we love them (and we do) that we might have to have our rooster put down and we were thinking of having him humanely slaughtered.
So my questions are IS there anyone in the Brisbane AU area who knows where someone might be looking for a rooster for re-homing OR where one can be humanely slaughter. Ive read online about the United States but nothing about Australia on slaughtering from ones own flock.
