One of our hens got attacked by a dog. She’s been on the back porch healing and the bite on her back is finally completely closed after a week and a half. I let her back out and the rooster kept attacking her so I brought her back in. He was coming up to the screen on the back porch and checking on her the whole time she was up on the porch so I thought he wanted to see her. He even took over taking care of her chick and lays on her at night. He’s always been so sweet. I’m at a loss for what to do. Any suggestions?

You sure he's actually attacking, & not trying to mount her?

When I have a hen separated for awhile, & reintroduce her, the roosters often will chase the hen around for abit, & eventually mounting her after a bit of drama. But it settles down after a couple days.

The first time I thought he was trying to mount her but then when he saw her following them he was running at her, clawing her, then running back to the rest of the hens.
Pictures, or video of the behavior is better then trying to describe it.
