We bought some Rhode island reds yesterday. And the rooster we got was 3 months old so I put him in the pen and the rest under a heat lamp last night. The pen was here before we moved here and had to be cleaned out. The coldest it got last night was 65 and when I went to check on him this morning he was dead and had no marks that would say something got him. Anyone have an idea as to what happened.

Not without a necropsy and lab work. There are dozens of things that can kill quickly.
I have had 2 roosters die suddenly. It turned out to be a heart attack but they were older than yours.
65 isn't cold at all.

What state are you in? You can send him off to the state poultry lab. In some states it is free.

I too am sorry, I wasn't on line yesterday and just saw this.

Your state lab is in Little Rock.
Do you still have him?
The university in Fayetteville may have one too.
