The Swamp
I am not sure if anyone has started a thread similar to this one already, but here is my own rooster thread! This is where everyone shares pictures and stories of their roosters. I love male chickens because of their hilarious antics and the surprise they can bring you (which can sometimes be bad surprise, but let us focus on the good surprise). Post away about your cockerels/roosters!

This is Jerry he has recently passed away from a skunk attack. He was my very first chicken I bought my self and who started my whole chicken adventure! He was always nice to all the ladies no mater there size. Lost his toes his first winter due to frostbite and was a hilarious dude!
You where my one and only Jerry!

Jerry was a pretty boy! I am sorry for your loss! Did he have trouble walking without toes?

He is pretty! Does he have a name?

I know who that is, I have seen him before!

I love roosters. We don’t have any because we live in a small city and they’re not allowed in our zone. But I wish we did. I feel sad for them that they have no control over the short straw they draw in life. I love seeing and hearing people’s happy stories about their roosters. One day when we have property in a rural area, I hope to have a few or maybe even rescue some. Until then I will enjoy all of yours :pop

Rescuing roosters would be wonderful! I would want to do that, if I had the time and space. Especially roosters who come from abusive situations. I got one of my roosters from a home that treated him and the others not very well. He is happier living here, and he definitely looks a LOT better. Feathers changed completely from looking ragged to full and healthy.
