I have heard 1 to 15, 1 to 10, 1 to7. For maximum fertility and less fighting how many roos per hens?

I have 18 hens...one rooster and he is more than enough at his young age. For example, the older hens make sure they stay in the house first thing in the morning to stay out of Buster's way. A partridge that I have could take some lessons from them...she manages to keep a bare back even thought one would think 1-18 is a good ratio...

I know they're not chickens but same concept I have one duck drake and 8 hens and ive been getting AWESOME fertility!!! Out of 28 eggs 24 were developing on week 1. I also will have one bantam ameraucana rooster to seven hens.
