This guy started out months ago with a little bit of bubbly stuff in the corner of his eye.
He started getting a swollen area under his eye, some days it looked worse than others. Some days it seemed to be going back to normal.

Now it has progressively gotten worse!! I took him to the vet a couple weeks ago and she said she wasn't for sure what it was but that it looked like a small mass. She gave me a 5 day round of some kind of oral meds (can't remember the name but I could look for the vet paperwork if need be) and another kind of ointment for like 7-10 days. I stopped the ointment because it wasn't helping and was getting worse.
I also tried Ciprofloxacin and it didn't help.

He acts Completely fine otherwise and nobody else has it!!
What could it be?! I do not want to cull him. He is such a good rooster!!

I attached a picture of his normal side along with the bad side. Sorry the pictures aren't the greatest.

Is it possibly cancerous?
I have no idea. I asked the vet what happened if the antibiotics and ointment didn't work and she mentioned surgery or just letting it be what it is.
We honestly can't afford surgery for a rooster and I don't want to cull him 😔

Does it appear to br painful for him?

Have you touched it? If so, how does it feel?

Is it possible he got an injury around his eye from something and it is causing swelling?
I touched it lightly this evening when I took the pictures and he moved away from me touching it.
I dont think it came from an injury because everything looked normal until it started swelling like that.

And as far as if it appears painful, not really unless I touch it. He acts completely normal in all other ways

I haven't seen something like that before. Could be the equivalent of pink eye for chickens? Some sort of bacterial infection?

I wish I could help you, I hope it all goes well with him, he is a pretty rooster!

Can you please get some clear well lit photos of the eye?

Looks like it has pus, but hard to tell.

Flush the eye with saline, clean it well. Push and press out the pus, then apply your eye ointment. Terramycin eye ointment or Original Neosporin can be used.
What is the ointment the vet gave you?

Yes I will try to get better pictures tomorrow Lord willing.
I can't remember the exact name of the ointment but It was the same stuff a vet prescribed for one of our goats at the time for an eye ulcer.
