Wing sexing only works if the chicken was bred specifically for that trait and I believe only works the first few days after being hatched. There are a few ways to tell the sex but it will depend on the age. The one you posted yesterday has the red leakage in his wing. That is only a male trait. Along with the very red and big comb and wattles you can see hes male.
Right and maybe the fact that they are all the same age and the 3 have way bigger wattles and combs than the grey one?
Yes, the size and color are indicators along with color. Male specific saddle and hackle feathers will start to come in also. And then of course crowing.
That light one just started crowing today that I noticed. The black and white one I posted yesterday has crowded since like 7 weeks. The one with the brown/red in it wings hasn’t crowed yet that I have noticed. They are all supposed to be Easter Eggers.
When you have multiple cockerels you will have some that mature faster than others. Sometimes people think they have a pullet then get rid of the cockerels and find out the pullet was just a slow maturing cockerel.
Oh goodness. We have the 2 I posted yesterday separated from the others and call it the “boy coop”. We put the one that crows all the time and has since 7 weeks in there thinking he’s obviously a rooster. The other one I posted yesterday we put in there thinking it was a rooster also really just based off how aggressive he randomly got towards that all grey looking hen I posted today. We got them the same time from the same pin and they had been together since no issues. Just seeming him get that way with her made us think he had to be a rooster even without crowing. Plus after posting the pictures here and everyone saying he looks like a rooster just validated everything. Now thinking that light one is a rooster well have to move him out of the girl coop and into the boy coop. I just really wanted to make sure they are for sure rooster. My boyfriends been posting about have an Easter Egger rooster free to good home since we heard that first crow due to not being able to have roosters in our area. So many people saying that are interested in them it would just break my heart to give them away thinking that are rooster and they turn out to hens and loose out on my baby’s! But thank you so much I’m sure I’m real annoying sometimes!
