He had blood on his beak and down the front of him. I checked the other hens and they were clean. He had always been well-mannered and even sits on my knee. So I'm not sure what happened.

So sorry for your loss. A camera is good.

If you’ve never seen him bully, then I think he might be getting framed. He very well may have pecked after the blood was sighted, but I’ll bet another animal did the deed.

I agree. If he saw blood he may have pecked at her after she died. Good luck...
