my chicken is about 8 weeks old and is there anyway i can tell which one is rooster and when do they start crowing?

I think mine started trying to crow (they make a cute adolescent noise) at about 4 months.

Depends on the breed. You can tell some roosters at hatch. They crow at any time. I've had them crow as early as five DAYS and as late as eighteen weeks.
