Roosters/Americana--Supposed to be chickens!

We have two 4 month old Chickens that go "Cock-a-doodle-doo!" We bought them at Big-R here in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and now... they are BOTH crowing!

We cannot keep them, we live in a suburb area, on a small acre. Does anyone know, anyone in this area that would give these roosters a good home? And keep them as pets?

Sorry your chickens end up to be roosters instead of hens. (Chickens are both boys and girls)

Thank you for the Welcome! Yes, we are very sad about these Roosters, they are beautiful, but we cannot keep them...

Contact your local 4H extention office and ask for the poultry specialist. He/she might be able to put you in touch with 4H leaders that know kids looking for fair projects. If the seller told you that they were pullets, you might be able to get replacements or a refund.

Thank you all so much! Yes, I will contact 4H, good idea! And I did contact Big-R (where we bought the pullets, and they said "it happens sometimes..." What are the odds though? Both of them?

They are very pretty roosters! A "small acre"? I live on a small 1/10th of an acre... with 3 pullets and 1 hen.

Most places would still refund or give you replacements. Chick sexing is 90% accurate. One wrong out of two might deserve a "it happens" response, but two out of two should be a "sorry, we will make this right" response.​
