Do hens crow ? And how old are roosters when they start to crow ?

I have heard hens can sometimes crow but I have never seen it myself - i imagine it would be a hormone problem with the hen producing male hormones thus crowing but that is purely speculation.

Roosters vary by breed in terms of when they crow. My first roos started to try to crow around 10-12 weeks old. My current rooster started around 16-17 weeks old, others take even longer. If you caponize a cockerel before he starts crowing he likely never will crow.
