Hi! I'm facing a problem- do I have to give up my best rooster or someone can give me a good advice. Currently i have 3 roosters ( 2 cemani and 1 faverolle) they are all separate in their summer coops with their own hens. They can't get along. They also fight through the net and I've seen very bloody consequences. Cemanis are very temperamental and ready to fight at any time. But i need them, because i have two bloodline. Third is my own raised salmon faverolle rooster, who is still my baby- almost 4,5 kg (( 9,9 Ib) and 1,5 year old. He is like stallion- all chickens lay fertilized eggs for three months now. I have also 2 blue - salmon chickens who grew out of their gray plumage. I incubated one of those chicken eggs and i got one almost grey roo. (picture) I want to keep this roo (he is so rare), but i dont have place to him in winter. I know, dad (salmon faverolle) don't recognize his son. My faverolle rooster didn't tolerate cochin rooster either, though they grew up together. Cochin is gone now.
Should i take the risk and put faverolles together, old and young one? This is a risk because I can't find a new home in the winter, one goes or another.

Could you purchase a new cage?Unforutently some males can’t/won’t tolarate another male in their presents, it’s just Mother Nature. You could try and see if it works, just be prepared to separate any whom don’t get along.

Oh, we dont have little coops. We have hard winters (over -4 F) Our coops are insulated little houses where I can enter.

Between the fences, block it off so they can't see each other.

But really, I think you want your cake and to eat it too. You do seem to have a lot of experience, and that is telling you, you have to pick one or the other rooster.

Thanks! Yes, right now we have found solutions that roosters dont have even eye contact. I just remembered, we have some borrowing option. Some people wants to borrow rooster for summer. And we have also winter place rentals for chickens, have to try those options.
